Answer: Dear Ioana, You should have no problem wearing a pendulum as a necklace unless it is made from a crystal whose energies are too overwhelming for you to comfortably wear next to your body. Some people are extremely sensitive to crystal vibrations. Crystal energies can feel too draining or, the opposite, too highly charged. I have several pendant style necklaces made with various gemstones that could be used as a pendulum if I wished because of their shape. A favorite is a green fluorite crystal that I wear sometimes to absorb negative energies. It is extremely helpful whenever I know that I am going to be around a person who tends to spew out negative statements. Because the crystal absorbs the negative vibrations I am better protected from any verbal barbs. I've seen some glass and metal pendulum style necklaces that are actually small vials which can be used to hold essential oils in them-- quite lovely. 
However, I choose not to use pendulums made from gemstones as tools for intuiting information. If a crystal pendulum is to be used as a healing tool for divination purposes then it is important to understand that crystals house healing properties within them that could make interpretation of the pendulum reading more difficult. Basically, a person would need to discern the outcome of the pendulum reading by separating the nature vibration of the crystal apart from the message that the tool movement is trying to convey. This is much like separating the white from the yolk of an egg. For this reason, whenever I use a pendulum as a healing tool, I prefer to employ a pendulum made from wood attached to a string rather than using a crystal pendulum on a metal chain. Metals also possess energies that can interfere with a pendulum reading outcome. Although wood also carries energetic vibes, it is more subtle than vibrations carried by crystals and metals. It is also helpful (and high recommended) to dedicate a pendulum into the service of healing and only use it for that purpose and not wear it as decorative jewelry

I had gone to bed early and awoke to a choir singing a hymn that sounded like the Lord's Prayer. I thought my husband, who was in another room, was watching a television show that was playing a church hymn. I wondered what he was watching but I went back to sleep. The next morning I asked him what show was he watching last night with the church song. He said none of the shows he watched had church songs. I asked my neighbor if she was playing church songs last night and she said no. Was I hearing the angels sing this hymn? It sounded like a gothic or Episcopal or Methodist type hymn with no instruments, only voices. The main voice was male but there were female and male voices. The words of the song had "His will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven!
The power and the glory, forever." Were these angels? What is the message? Why were they singing to me?
Chrissie Dear Chrissie, Oh my, how wonderful. Yes, this was an experience of clairaudience that came from the higher realms. They want you to know about the wonders of spiritual life and to reconnect and bring that part of yourself into your daily life. These are less common than other mystical experiences, to hear the music of the Higher Realms, so how blessed that was! I had a similar experience once and I will never forget the sound. For a few seconds I heard a female voice accompanied by the sound of bells or something like bells. I am sure the actual sound cannot be duplicated on this Earth. It truly was angelic and ethereal and it came from the ceiling during meditation. This occurs most of the time to people who are "wired" to be clairaudient which is one of the more elusive of the claires. Ironically, as the most elusive gift it is also the one gift that most people expect to have. In my previous question in this column we discussed that everyone is wired with gifts to be aware of the Divine so be sure to read that. I'd also like to discuss how to figure out how you are wired and how to fine tune it.

Edward Shorter, professor of the history of medicine and psychiatry, may be right when he says psychiatry needs therapy. He says "Patients who seek psychiatric help today for mood disorders stand a good chance of being diagnosed with a disease that doesn't exist and treated with a medication little more effective than a placebo."
His article published yesterday in the Wall Street Journal gives readers a history lesson of how psychiatry has progressed today from the 50s and 60s when a patient would likely be diagnosed with either depression or nervousness. Shorter doesn't necessarily view the changes as advancements. Today, emotional and mental imbalances are meticulously dissected and classified by our doctors. Once labeled with a disorder or syndrome, a medication is prescribed. Shorter appears to be making a case against the psychiatric community overanalyzing and coming up with new disorder classifications. He says it is pointless considering there are limited treatments available to prescribe the "new abnormals" anyway.
I don't know about you, but I generally feel better having been given a diagnosis. In my world, once an imbalance has been given a name, I'm one step closer to finding balance because at least I know who my enemy is. Easier to go into battle with something tangible, right? But, what if the diagnosis is merely a label, and not a true ailment? What are we suppose to do with that? Maybe it doesn't matter if we believe labels do not define us. It is never helpful to over-identify with a dis-ease. We are not our dis-eases. We are challenged by our dis-eases, but they are not who we are. Getty Images

Permalink | Comment | Email this Read more at this website... 02/26/2010 Bail Reduced - James Arthur Ray Released James Arthur Ray walked out of the Yavapai County jail in Arizona on Friday morning (Feb 26, 2010) after a three week incarceration. Ray gave a post release interview with ABC15 News. Judge Warren Darrow reduced the bail amount from $5 million to $525,000. Reduced bail was based on testimony determining Ray's financial worth. In addition to posting bail, other conditions for his release required him to turn over his passport to the court and also agreeing not to conduct any sweat lodge ceremonies or other activities that might harm others. Ray is charged with three counts of manslaughter following the deaths of three individuals who were participants in a week long spiritual retreat near Sedona last October.

Dear Madeleine,
We adopted Dante from a shelter about a year ago. He was found tied to the shelter fence one morning so his age and history are unknown. He is sweet, kind, housebroken and is the most amazing dog I've ever met. I wonder why someone would abandon him and whether he had a good life before he was taken to the shelter. Does he miss his previous owner? I know his kidneys are failing and he won't be with me much longer so I want to keep him comfortable and be able to let him go when the time comes. Who would've thought that being "thick-headed" was a good thing? ScienceDaily reported today on the results of a new study that indicates our pain thresholds could be measured by thickness of the grey matter in our brains. It seems that thicker grey matter reduces sensitivity to pain. So, how can we go about thickening up our brains? Zen meditation. Zen meditators' brains are comparatively thicker than non-meditators. Scientists are wondering, beyond the meditation practice itself, if it could be the Zen meditation posture - Lotus Pose - that leads to a thickening of the brain's cortex.
